Re-Introduction

Let’s call this a fresh start. Not a reboot or a reimagining, or anything like that. A fresh start. Definitely a change in webhosting and I’ve decided not to just copy and paste the old site onto this one. Some amount of the old content will find its way here eventually, but that’s going to take time, and I might be picky about things.

I’ve kept a blog of some kind for most of the time since somewhere around 2006. Mostly, it’s been concerned with me pursuing writing. I say mostly as other things tend to creep in. I have other interests, too, even if writing is the main thing that makes it into the wild. That will probably continue to be true.

For today, here’s what I’m putting into free space:

I’m a writer, mostly of Science Fiction and Fantasy, but I find my way into other genres, too, and have a major non-fiction project going on. In recent years, I’ve been dipping my toe in the waters of independent publishing. Hoping to get more focused on both fronts over the next 6-12 months.
I’m a middle-aged fellow who’s gone back to university and just finished my third year as a Physics major. This takes a lot of time away from the last point. I have goals and need to keep my grades at a high enough level to reach them.
I’m a martial arts student. No, I will never be Bruce Lee or Chuck Norris, and that’s okay.
I have too many interests and hobbies that never seem to get much time in the real world but always occupy a bit of headspace.
A lot of my current media consumption is for nostalgia purposes. Things I watched as a kid or missed the first time around.
I lean left politically and socially, and I don’t at all care what other people believe so long as they treat others well.
I’m learning to live without my Mom in the world.

All these things will likely find their way here at some point.

But those will all be other days. For today, mind the virtual sawdust and construction scraps. Much more to come. Be welcome and be well.
