June Writing Summary

An even shorter summary than I wrote for May, but then the word count is substantially smaller due to various external events (academic conference, family stuff, convocation, and so on), but I want to get back to the updates as a regular thing

9,769 words with a mere 580 of them being first draft fiction. Most of the remaining words this month went into the finishing adjustments on Volume 2 of the Memory Project and picking up the threads of Volume 3. First draft finished on exactly 0 stories, and probably not a surprise based on the numbers in the first sentence of this paragraph.

The June theme, Will You Survive?, finished with a solid structural plotting of 180 total scenes, 50 of which are distinct endings, and containing 83 total decision points, and I’ve started to fill in some of the basic scene plots – not plotting yet, that’s the next step, but more like descriptive titles.

I’m making some personal scheduling adjustments for July and hope to squeeze a few more words in this month, but the theme for July, which I’ll talk about tomorrow, is the Songs of Summer, and that’s got very little to do with word count.

Be well, everyone.
