As I suggested in the original post, way back in January, I have written the odd song here and there over the years, but I’m going to try a little songwriting focus for this month and see if I can average two per week. That gives a little space in a 31-day month, but I have already started the first one.

And by song I specifically mean lyrics. I don’t play an instrument well enough to accompany myself even if I could sing, and I don’t read music all that well. I can’t say there won’t be a melody in my head for any or all of them, but I’m unlikely to be able to translate that into something that can be played.

I understand that most definitions of what I’m doing would actually have me take the title of Lyricist, and that’s fine. So, if you’ll excuse me, I have some angry protest lyrics to write.
