July’s theme is running better than June’s did, although to be fair to myself, a Choose Your Own Adventure type story involves a lot more planning than just a simple outline or even detailed plot.
That said, I can’t exactly say that songwriting is easy even if I have made good progress so far this month. Halfway through July and I’ve hit half the goal, penning the lyrics for four songs so far with the fifth in progress.
On the completed list:
- Rage Keeps You Strong
- What Happened to the Future?
- Just Scroll
- Check For Bugs
They’re all variations on the two or three verses plus a bridge and chorus model. You know, pop songs. Which doesn’t necessarily make them pop songs. What genre they fit into beyond potentially social protest I’ll leave to someone who actually wants to record them to figure out.
Which begs the question, who would possibly want to record any song I write? It’s nice to dream, though.
