Convocation

At last.

This is backdated to the actual day of, along with a couple of others I forgot to schedule in the run up to convocation and stuff going on ahead of it.

And it’s still going to be a short post.

You can read a limited amount about my overall middle-aged academic journey here, but to sum up in less than 150 words:

I stepped into full-time studies at the end of the pandemic for Spring Term of 2021. The extra term allowed me to (theoretically) make third and fourth year a bit lighter. Fourth year didn’t turn out that way (third didn’t really either, but for different reasons) since I got accepted into a bridge program that had me take two graduate courses in Fall term and then had to really nail my thesis project in Winter. Along the way, I somehow got adopted by the cool kids, and on 26 June 2025, most of us graduated with that Four-Year BSc. I say most as there are several taking slightly different paths or who started in some other program and will still be around for at least part of next year. And I’ll still be in the building doing my MSc.

None of which could have been done without the support of my family.
